Abstract: The aim of this research is to study the effect of Sandplay on the anxiety and psychological stress level of university students with attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity features. The subject of the research is the efficiency of Sandplay in working with adults with ADD features. The research involved ten university students with evident ADD features, high anxiety and psychological stress level who participated in Sandplay for ten weeks. The research implied one-group diagnostics before and after the therapy. The main research methods include theoretical analysis of research literature and correlation study. The obtained data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon rank test. The results of the research demonstrate significant differences in what concerns the reduction of anxiety and psychological stress experienced by students. The research results allow to make a statement that the Sandplay therapy may have a beneficial effect on anxiety and psychological tension felt by students with attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity features.

Abstract: The article is devoted to studying teenager health, first of all, factors that may preserve and psychologically prevent health problems. The subject of the research is the relationship between teenager health and their emotions and competences. Within the framework of this article the author views the emotions and competences as the factor that determines one's health and the ground for psychological prevention of illnesses. Emotions and competences become especially important when it comes to education and character education because the contemporary education system is still built on the principle of developing intellectual abilities rather than emotions and competences. The methodology of the research is based on the analysis and generalization of literature data and recent researches devoted to the relationship between emotions and competences and one's health. The author also carries out her own research using psychological tests. The author's special contribution to the matter is that the author analyzes emotions and competences and health of teenagers in relation to the psychosomatic approach to modern medicine and psychology. Summarized results obtained in the course of the research allow to describe particularities of emotions and competences in a group of respondents with different types of health complaints. These data can be used as the basis for preventive work with teenagers.

Abstract: The subject of the research is the law enforcemet officers' personal qualities affecting the efficiency of their professional activity. The authors of the article view professionally important qualities as certain dynamic personality characteristics, psychic and psychomotor attributes (associated with particular psychic and psychomotor processes) as well as physical properties that are necessary for adjusting to a particular speciality and successful acquisition of particular skills. The authors of the article analyze a great number of different approaches to defining 'professionally important qualities'. The authors provide a summary of the main conceptual approaches to developing professionally important qualities of law enforcement officers. The theoretical and methodological basis of the research involves fundamental principles of personality psychology as well as the main theoretical provisions of the activity approach to personality development. The author's contribution to the topic is caused by the fact that based on the theoretical analysis, they aim at defining professionally important qualities of law enforcement officers. Analysis of diagnostic data obtained in the course of the research proves that professionally important qualities of law enforcement officers should include emotional resilience, high responsibility and low level of trait anxiety.

Abstract: The subject of the research is the theoretical understanding of the modern society's attitude to pernicious habits. In her article Pshenichnaya presents the results of her theoretical analysis of some Russian and foreign researches regarding interpretation and definition of such terms as 'habit' and 'addiction'. The author makes an emphasis on similarities and differences between these two terms. She also covers how bad habits originate and develop, what causes them, and what the role of one's personal responsibility in the process of fighting pernicious habits is. The author also outlines the main directions of preventing bad habits in the process of education and teaching. The research is based on the synergetic principle of studying an object and the author has also used the method of systems analysis of psychological phemonena. The main conclusions include the need to undertake measures aimed at educating contemporary young people about causes of pernicious habits, mechanisms and stages of their development, conditions and methods of changing and fighting them. It is also necessary to conduct a certain monitoring process in this sphere. An important practical conclusion for psychological and pedagogical services is that in order to fight pernicious habits, one needs to make a solid decision to change his or her life and to understand that it is his or her personal responsibility.

Pshenichnaya V.V. - The Use of Meditation to Reduce Anxiety Levels of College Students in the Exam Situation

Abstract: The author of the article analyzes the problems of application of meditative methods for correction of psycho-emotional state in a stressful situation. The author reveals the specifics of using meditative techniques in psychological practice, provides an overview of the mechanisms of positive influence of such techniques on the psychological state. The object of the research is the use of meditative techniques in the educational environment, the subject of the research is the effect of meditation on psycho-emotional state of college students who are taking exams. The aim of the author is to draw the interest of Russian psychologists and psychotherapists to the use of meditative practices. Research methods include theoretical analysis of scientific literature on the problem under consideration; testing of students of at the techer training college; statistical methods (descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, Spearman's criterion). Statistical data processing was performed using the software package "SPSS 20". The main result of the research is the reduction of the level of situational anxiety experienced by college graduates when preparing for final state exams through using meditative techniques by the psychologist. The important conclusion is that the meditation seems to be a universal method of relieving emotional stress, in particular anxiety in a stressful situation. The scientific novelty of the research is caused by the fact that the author uses meditation as the means of anxiety reduction in conditions of the educational process.
