Pyatiletova L.V. - Implementation of competence approach in professional training of a specialist in the sphere of tourism: educational trajectory of teaching an academic discipline “Human Being and Their Needs” pp. 1-11

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8736.2020.2.33211

Abstract: This article is dedicated to the problems of implementation of competence approach in the Bachelor’s Degree Program in Tourism in the course of studying an academic discipline “Human Being and Their Needs”. The response of tourism industry to the challenges of modernity became the introduction of universal standards in the area of higher education aimed at formation of competences among the future specialist in tourism sphere that would allow tourism agencies to successfully compete on the market of travel services. The article illustrated the creation of academic content of the discipline that corresponds to the modern educational standards. The following conclusions were made: 1) educational strategy is defining for the formation of student’s competence within the framework of the course “Human Being and Their Needs”; 2) a student acquires a unique set of skills related to identification of the needs of “collective subject” as an agent of culture who consumes travel product; 3) globally, the sphere of tourism currently experiences shortage of human resources possessing the knowledge and competences in the area of anthropology of tourism that allows studying the dynamics and structure of modern tourism, which became one of the leading anthropological practices of a person of postindustrial society.

Volkova E.S., Gisin V.B. - On the assessment of formation of the system of main concepts of mathematical analysis pp. 12-27

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8736.2020.2.32942

Abstract: The object of this research is the results of experimental use of the test for inventory of the concepts of mathematical analysis (Calculus Concept Inventory, CCI), which is aimed at assessment of the key concepts of mathematical analysis, such as function, limit and derivative. The test was conducted in the period from 2016 to 2020 and involved Bachelor’s degree students of Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation on the discipline “Applied Mathematics and Informatics”. “Mathematical Analysis” is one of the key disciplines in formation of mathematical competencies of students majoring “Applied Mathematics and Informatics”. Test was developed by the leading experts from the United States in the area of mathematics and teaching mathematics in the universities, and was implemented in Russian practice for the first time. For quality assessment of the test was applied Cronbach's alpha coefficient, and the results were evaluated based on the Item Response Theory. Although in universities of the United States the implementation of this test showed relatively low effectiveness, for the students of Financial University the coefficient values were significantly higher and allow making an unequivocal conclusion on the informativeness of results. The article also applies the values of discriminant coefficient. Their fluctuation allows using the test not only for assessing the achievement in learning mathematical analysis of students in groups, but also individual results. The results demonstrate that the traditional approach in teaching the principles of mathematical analysis that is widely recognized in the Russian universities is ineffective, which underlines the need to rearrange the content and methods of teaching mathematical analysis in a university.
Nikitin P.V. - Increasing efficiency of physics education through elective courses of “Physics Fundamentals of Information Security” pp. 28-42

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8736.2020.2.33254

Abstract: The object of this research is the increase in motivation of students towards learning physics as one of the most complex sciences of school curriculum. The subject of this research is the elective course of “Physics Fundamentals of Information Security” developed by the author, based on the cross-disciplinary integration of such disciplines as physics, informatics, and information security. An extensive analysis is conducted on textbooks on physics and scientific methodical sources of literature on information security. Special attention is given to methodological questions of teaching this elective course, structured on application of the method of problem-based learning as an optimal method for search and acquisition of new knowledge and active learning activity. The scientific novelty consists in development of the elective course “Physics Fundamentals of Information Security”, which has applied aim. The laboratory works developed by the author in such way that the students learn the laws of physics in the course of completing the research. They first see “how it works”, and then make conclusions as formulas, after which they solve the theoretical tasks on these topics, understanding entirety of the depth. This course is registered in Rospatent as the database Electronic Educational Resource on the Discipline “Physics Fundamentals of Information Security”. The author pays particular attention to implementation of this course into educational process, as well as describes the methodological system of teaching and the pedagogical experiment that proves the effectiveness of this course.

Mukhanova E.D. - New forms of cyberbullying in social networks (on the example of “death community”) pp. 43-58

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8736.2020.2.33444

Abstract: The subject of this research is the new forms of cyberbullying as a social problem of school environment. The goal consists in conducting a sociological analysis of the new forms of cyberbullying. The survey was conducted on the basis of Google Forms in the social network Vkontakte; it involved students of 8-11 grades, university freshmen, and students of vocational secondary schools of Nizhny Novgorod, total of 300 persons. The second survey “New forms of manifestation of cyberbullying in social networks: on the example of the phenomenon “death community” was carried out in Marc 2018, and involved school students of 5-11 grades, total of 362 persons. The acquired results demonstrate that children who were not able to find solution of their problem most often enter the “death community”. They look for solution among other members of the group, kindred in spirit, and attracted by philosophy of the groups, presented by interesting names, such as “whales swim upwards” and “whale journal”, which describe the romantic side of death, that it is a good or an achievement, rather than something scary or unknown. The scientific novelty lies in studying the problem of cyberbullying in the school environment of Nizhny Novgorod. The obtained results may be used social pedagogues and school psychologists.in formulation of recommendations for parents of “vulnerable” group of students to prevent cyberbullying.

Makarova M.V. - Prospects of online education in Russia pp. 59-70

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8736.2020.2.29088

Abstract:   The subject of this article is the problems in the export of Russian education, particularly in online education. The author examines the prospects of demand for Russian online education in Russia and abroad. Such problematic questions of online education as its quality and control are raised in the course of this research. Attention is given to the export of education in the Russian Federation, namely online education in universities. The government conducts active import substitution policy since 2014, including in the sphere of education. The prospects of online education in Russia can be reflected in three vectors: 1) development of vocational education; 2) development of higher education; 3) development of business education. The scientific novelty consists in an attempt to answer the following question: is online education as an important element of import substitution policy and advancement of non-resource export is necessary for the government and educational organizations. The provided information testifies to the fact that online education is beneficial for flagman universities, as the grants are allocated to them. At the same time, it is an extremely rare case when nonprofit organizations gain advantage from it. Therefore, the question on the need for advancement of online education remains controversial.
