Abstract: The scientific article is a study on the history of the creation of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ). The article presents an analysis of the history of the creation and development of the IFJ. The authors pay special attention to the reasons and prerequisites underlying the emergence of the International Federation of Journalists, as well as expand the data on the creation of the IFJ. The study draws attention to the circumstances that led to the establishment of the IFJ in the post-war period. Special attention is paid to the influence of geopolitical factors on the formation and development of the organization. The consideration of the reasons for the split of the MOJ includes differentiated approaches and strategies adopted by various participating countries, in particular, in the context of the professional activities of journalists. The data on the current state of affairs of the Russian Union of Journalists as part of the International Federation of Journalists are presented. The research methods used include historical analysis: the study of historical documents, archival materials, protocols of congresses related to the creation and development of the IFJ. A content analysis of the texts of articles, statements and reports related to organizations was carried out in order to identify key topics, approaches and dynamics in their activities. The novelty of this study lies in the fact that there are very few such materials in the scientific literature devoted to the history of journalism in Russia, and they mainly concerned the regions of Russia and the development of regional journalism. The main conclusion of this study is the understanding that currently non-governmental international organizations formed on the principles of professionalism are changing and becoming similar to political organizations, which in turn can lead to a split in these organizations and the termination of their existence. After Russia launched a special military operation in February 2022, the unions of journalists of Finland, Norway, Denmark and Iceland announced their intention to leave IFJ due to the presence of the national Union of Journalists of the Russian Federation in it. In February 2023, despite the fact that the organization claims that it is not connected with politics, but is exclusively engaged in protecting the rights of journalists, the IFJ "froze" the membership of the Russian Federation in the organization. It will be possible to return to the issue of Russia's return to work as part of the International Federation of Journalists only in 2026, if necessary.

Wang J. - Phraseological units with the semantics of "human character" in Russian and Chinese pp. 11-20

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8698.2024.3.70072

EDN: ZBBEOS

Abstract: The object of this research is the phraseological field with the semantics of "human character" as a fragment of the linguistic picture reflecting the peculiarities of perception of the world by native speakers of Russian and Chinese languages. The subject of the study is national peculiarities and common features of cultural components of the meaning of phraseological units about human character in the Russian and Chinese languages. In the first part of the article, the author gives a brief description of the theoretical understanding of phraseology as a phenomenon of Russian and Chinese linguistics, draws parallels between the concepts of phraseological unit and chengyu, comparing the key characteristics of the two terms and specifying the subject of research. Having defined the theoretical boundaries of the concept of phraseology, the author of the article systematizes the research material in accordance with the semantic features. The second part of the study is devoted to the comparative linguistic, cultural and semantic analysis of phraseological units expressing the "character of a person" in Russian and Chinese. Methods of classification, lexico-semantic analysis, linguistic and cultural analysis, comparison, generalization are used. The sample of the study includes 400 phraseological units about the character of a person (200 Russian and 200 Chinese), which were studied using quantitative and qualitative methods of analysis. The research contributes to the study of linguistic and cultural peculiarities of the perception of human character by representatives of Russian and Chinese cultures. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the application of comparative lexico-semantic and linguistic-cultural analysis to phraseological units with the meaning of "human character". Russian and Chinese studies of the quantitative correlation of phraseological and semantic groups in the phraseological field with the semantics of "human character" in Russian and Chinese, as well as the identification of cultural and historical features and patterns in the perception of human character traits in the Russian and Chinese language worldviews, revealed the presence of a universal and specific perception of human character. All this made it possible to establish a connection between different historical and social development, the influence of different religious and philosophical teachings in Russia and China, and the perception of human character reflected in the corresponding fragment of the phraseological field.

Klimenko I.V. - Interaction between the big adventure form and the composition of a neo-romantic literature pp. 21-30

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8698.2024.3.70125

EDN: JQHAEP

Abstract: The subject of the study is the composition of a neo-romantic story, the object is the stories by Alexander Grin «The Headless Horseman (18th Century Manuscript)», «The Taboo», «Hundred miles along the river». The author examines such aspects as the neo-romantic compositional features of the small genre, which probably emerged as a result of appealing to adventure novels, and attempts to correlate the concepts of «neo-romantic literature» and «adventure literature». Grin’s short stories, describing one event, are typically divided into chapters. This contradicts the genre logic, since it slows down the pace of the narrative. Allusions to the adventure attributes cement the composition and imagery system of the neo-romantic story and adventure novel. The affinity of poetics makes it possible to project the theory of adventure composition onto the neo-romantic work. It allows systematizing the neo-romantic composition features. The analysis draw the following conclusions. Division short stories into chapters seems to be an allusion to the adventure novel, for which is a way of structuring a large number of events. Allusiveness and play with points of view reflect the principle of dialogicity. The reader’s perception of allusions to adventure works performs a genre-forming function for an adventure novel, placing it in the context of adventure literature. In a neo-romantic story, allusions open up the dialog and play with readers’ expectations and non-neo-romantic poetics. The principle of play is innate in adventure as a phenomenon: events are lived through by the protagonist for their own sake. Although the techniques are common, the goals of a neo-romantic story and an adventure novel differ. A neo-romantic story deals with the personality behind its usual reality, not extreme situations as such, and a single event is sufficient to achieve this goal.
Zhang L. - Perception of Andrei Bely's works in China pp. 31-39

EDN: BNACAF

Abstract: The paper examines the history of Chinese translations and studies of the artistic creativity and theoretical research of Andrei Bely, as well as comparative analysis of the works of Chinese literary scholars specializing in the study of poetry, prose, as well as the critical heritage of the Russian symbolist. The purpose of the work is to give a complete picture of the state of translations and the degree of knowledge of Bely’s heritage in China, as well as to summarize this existing material, which seems important for subsequent research in this area. In addition, the article traces the stages of development of the study of the works of Andrei Bely, special attention is paid to the perception of the novel Petersburg and its literary criticism by Chinese scholars. An attempt is being made to identify gaps in Chinese literary studies and thus highlight promising lines of development in this area of literary criticism. The work uses comparative historical method, which allows us to determine the influence of Russian modernism, represented by Bely, on the modern literary process in China. Translations of Bely's works into Chinese are not yet a fully studied problem in science, which determines the novelty of the research. It is shown how the approach to the translation of symbolist text has changed and improved, three groups of translations have been identified and considered (translations of poetry, theory and novels), with special attention paid to the translation of novels. As for research, despite the sufficient number of works on Bely in Chinese science, they cannot be considered exhaustive. Our work attempts to highlight both problem areas and achievements of Chinese Bely studies, consider various scientific approaches to understanding Bely’s prose, and concludes that it is necessary to expand scientific tools for a deeper understanding of Bely’s heritage.

Abstract: The subject of the research is journalism as a social institution. Modern media industries are becoming maximally polarized and involved in the process of promoting and defending certain values, as a result of which we see an unprecedented information confrontation that is one way or another transforming the world community. Media researchers are beginning to recognize the untenability of the idea of a universal culture in the field of journalism. Based on these premises, the object of the study was journalistic culture, which includes the choice of methods for collecting information and creating a media product. The work used axiomatic (the specificity of the method is that at the beginning of the process a set of basic provisions is specified that do not require proof and are taken as explicit, in fact, they are an axiom), analysis and synthesis, combining the conclusions obtained during the previous research method into a single whole. The novelty of the study is seen in the fact that for the first time, when studying the functions of journalism, a conclusion is drawn about the need to move away from globalization ideas from an axiomatic point of view. It can be observed that in recent years, social networks, instant messengers and channels, which are capable of completely reformatting the mentality of society and even the way people think, can have an increasing influence. Based on the results of the study, the following conclusions can be drawn: trends and communication flows are now created mainly in social networks and the services that support them, and communication is then effective when it actively unfolds in the online media space. Numerous social networks of different types, while entertaining, involve their audience in the communication process and offer the opportunity for cultural and political socialization.

Rakhmatova A.M. - The body as the boundary between the hero and the world in non-classical lyrics pp. 54-64

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8698.2024.3.70037

EDN: CKMARM

Abstract: The object of research in this article is the lyrical subject in works related to the lyrics of the non-classical stage of the poetics of artistic modality (S. N. Broitman). The subject is bodily images that perform the function of the boundary between the hero and the world in the lyrical works. The purpose of the study is to identify and describe the value-semantic parameters of bodily images that perform the functions of the boundary between the hero and the world in the works of non-classical lyrics. The focus of this article is on the specifics of the relationship of the lyrical subject/character with the outside world, expressed by bodily images that carry the semantic meaning of the boundary between him and the world. Identifying and describing the features of these images, it is worth noting that the images of the similarity of the world to the human body and, conversely, the human body to the world are most directly related to them. The main method used in this work is historical and poetical analysis, namely, the identification in the texts under consideration of those features that are due to its belonging to a certain stage of the evolution of poetics. The scientific novelty of the study is determined by the fact that for the first time it theoretically summarizes observations on bodily images that perform the function of the boundary between the hero and the world in the lyrics of the non-classical stage of the poetics of artistic modality. In non–classical lyrics, the semantic emphasis in works depicting the world through the body and/or the body through the world, in our opinion, is placed on the external similarity of the lyrical subject and the phenomena of the external world (and more broadly, man and being), illustrating the relationship of the original connection between them with autonomy from each other. The images of the mutual similarity of man and the world in the lyrical works of this stage of poetics express the theme of the inseparability of these two spheres, the outer world of the hero and the inner world of the hero, with their a priori non-identity to each other.

Shubina A.O. - The application of the attractor model to cognitive poetics, journalism, and foreign language learning. pp. 65-81

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8698.2024.3.70029

EDN: CWEJYZ

Abstract: The article examines the issue of applying of the complex dynamic systems theory elements in the field of teaching foreign languages, analyzing the use of the Internet, cognitive poetics, and journalism. In all these areas, the attractor model is mainly used. An attractor is a potential state of a system to which it is evolving. The semantics of the term is clearly dominated by the meaning of attraction. The article presents the justification of the methodological aspect in the application of the attractor model in various fields of science. An overview of domestic and foreign works in these fields is given, and various types of attractors are considered. Special attention is paid to cognitive poetics, a relatively new field of cognitive linguistics that systematically explores the relationship between the literary texts structure and their perception and conceptualization. In cognitive poetics, attractors influence the level of discourse by creating attention-attracting text objects. New types of textual attractors are proposed – neologisms (nonword), as well as elements of non-trivial lexical phrase that are not collocations. A lexical unit is a textual attractor if it attracts the reader's attention. The proof that a nonword attracts attention is that it introduces dissonance into the text, or that the lexical solution takes longer time. The proof that a nontrivial phrase can be considered a textual attractor is an increase in the reaction time to this phrase. The main contribution of the author to the study of the topic can be called the presentation of two types of new textual attractors, namely nonword and non-trivial phrase. The study of the structure and methods of producing individual author's occasional nonwords and non-trivial phrases that act as attractors in a V. Pelevin’s dystopian novel is carried out.
Dugalich N.M., Han H. - Maximizers hyping in Chinese MA learners’ and experts’ academic discourse: An EUM-based study pp. 82-93

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8698.2024.3.70220

EDN: DYYVXQ

Abstract: The research is to examine the utilization of maximizers as a strategic tool to attain academic rhetorical hype within the realm of Chinese MA theses (CLMA_C) and international journal articles (ILJA_C). Maximizers, which convey heightened intensity and personal commitment, play a crucial role in shaping rhetorical strategies in academic discourse. The study employs the EUM model (Sinclair’s theory of extended units of meaning). By adopting this model, the research makes a significant contribution to elucidating the intricate linguistic choices within scholarly communication. The goal is to analyze the collocation features of the maximizers in CLMA_C and ILJA_C. The goal determines the choice of the subject of research – identifying similarities and differences in the use of maximizers in two databases (international journal articles (ILJA_C) and Chinese MA theses (CLMA_C). The novelty of the research is that the study employs the EUM model to analyze maximizers in CLMA_C and ILJA_C, allowing for a comprehensive examination of both collocational form and contextual meaning. The analysis includes an exploration of lexical patterns, colligation, semantic preference, and semantic prosody, offering a multifaceted understanding of how maximizers contribute to rhetorical strategies. This research uniquely explores maximizers in collocational form and meaning using the EUM model, offering nuanced insights into their role in rhetorical hype and revealing cross-cultural variations through the similarities and significant differences in CLMA_C and ILJA_C. The study contributes significantly to second language acquisition and comparative linguistics, advancing knowledge on maximizers in academic communication. Findings show lexical pattern similarities but significant differences in colligation, semantic preference, and semantic prosody. In CLMA_C, “fully” lacks diverse collocates, with varied colligation patterns influenced by L1 transfer. Regarding semantic prosody, experts adopt a commendatory tone, while Chinese MA learners express an affirmative tone.

Shukurov D.L. - An anagram of the "unknown poet" in K.K. Vaginov's novel "The Goat Song" pp. 94-104

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8698.2024.3.70135

EDN: NBIYTY

Abstract: The article analyzes the hidden semantic associations, allusions and reminiscences associated with the artistic technique of anagramming the surname of the main character of K.K. Vaginov's novel "The Goat Song" (1928) – the "unknown poet" Agafonov. The subject of our research attention was the linguistic and cultural complex of associations as part of an incomplete anagram of the writer's surname (Vaginov) in the family "mask" of the autobiographical hero (Agafonov). Special attention is paid to the analysis of the phenomenological structure of this image, based on elementary semantic connections with the formally absent linguistic and cultural complex of the reconstructed context: the "Dionysian" component (the motif of the "unknown god" in the Pradionysian cults); the cultural and semantic stereotype of the Silver Age (in particular, the features of the symbolist "poet-theurgist" are obvious); the Nietzschean image "the artist of intoxication and sleep"; and finally, with the ancient Greek etymology of the word-concept ἀγάπη ( love, Christian meals of love) in the structure of the surname of the character in question – Agafonov. The anagramming technique is presented from the perspective of the artistic teleology of Vagin's work and is considered by us within the framework of the methodological guidelines of historical poetics (O.M. Freudenberg) and selectively applied methods of deconstructivist analysis. As part of the analysis of the phenomenological structure of the image of the "unknown poet", we sought, using a wide range of interpretative possibilities of the Vagin text, to demonstrate the hidden semantic structures associated with the anagram of the surname of the main character of the novel – the "unknown poet" Agafonov. The main result of the conducted research is the conclusion that the anagramming technique is presented by K. K. Vaginov in the perspective of the artistic teleology of the novel narrative, which is based on the principle of multifunctional interaction between the author and the character. A special research contribution to the development of the presented topic is an indication of specific structural and semantic complexes linking the surname of the hero of the Vaginovsky novel with a wide linguistic and cultural tradition – from antiquity (Plato's "Feast" dialogue) to the modern era ("The Birth of Tragedy from the Spirit of Music" by F. Nietzsche).

Wang C. - Ideological literary policy of Stalin and Khrushchev pp. 105-114

DOI:
10.25136/2409-8698.2024.3.70202

EDN: NIAHAC

Abstract: The subject of this study is the changes in ideological literary policy by I.V. Stalin to N.S. Khrushchev. The article examines the features of Stalin’s literary ideological policy (concept of socialist realism). This concept, developed in the light of the ideological and political guidelines of the Stalinist leadership and supervision, writers, poets, and critics lost their creative freedom. This was the reason for the formation of the theory of conflict-free behavior in the literature. The author notes that by the early 1950s a new path opened for creating examples of literary creativity, since the new political leader rethought the concept of socialist realism and eliminated Stalin’s cult of personality. When studying problems related to the analysis of the ideology and political orientations of outstanding statesmen of the USSR, comparative historical and typological research methods were used in the work. To formulate the conclusions of the study, the author used methods such as comparative and descriptive. As a result of the research, the evolution in the ideological and political views of the state leadership on the course of the literary process in the country was revealed, it was concluded that the period of Khrushchev’s reign can rightfully be called the time of the onset of the cultural “thaw” in the details of the writers, poets, and critics. However, factors that seem obvious at first glance, introducing a certain degree of freedom into the creative process, are still accompanied by the inevitable tightening of policies and political supervision over the content of literary works. The author concluded that the cultural “thaw” that clearly emerged in the country during the reign of Khrushchev turned out to be an incomplete reform, since the content of creativity was still supposed to revolve around the ideas and orientations of the party’s activities.

EDN: RWXRCW

Abstract: The article examines the problems of self-realization of a primary school-age child using the example of works written in the early 2020s, Yulia Kuznetsova's trilogy about Varya and Olya. The psychological features of this age group are revealed, as well as the original features of modern art for children aged seven to ten years. In this work, the topics of children's relationships in the family, the class collective, emerging friendships, as well as the problems of growing up and socialization are updated. A rather original typology of children's characters relevant to modern reality is presented. The significance and importance of this article is due to the importance of the problems posed, as well as modern and practically unexplored research material, which are the works of Yu. Kuznetsova, only included in scientific circulation. To understand these aspects, the following research methods are used in the article: comparative, hermeneutical and comparative typological methods. With the help of a systematic approach, an analytical study of the ways of communication between children and adults – parents, grandparents, neighbors, teachers - is provided. The main result of this work was the study of different types of characters of primary school children, ways of their interaction and ways of self-realization. The research of practically new and little-studied artistic material, which arouses genuine interest among both the addressee's peer and the adult reader, becomes relevant in this article. At the same time, the following tasks were solved: identification of key aspects of growing up and socialization of a child; analysis of friendly relationships, friendships and enmity-competition in Y. Kuznetsova's stories about Varya and Olya; identification of the features of the development of the main storylines and the figurative system of the analyzed stories, as well as the genre originality of the works under study. The key aspects of the article were questions about the typology of the characters of children of primary school age, the moral aspects of growing up a child.

Demidov N.M. - "Little Man" in the context of the narrative structure of the work: "Overcoat" by N. V. Gogol and "Irrepressible Tambourine" by A.M. Remizov pp. 124-135

DOI:

EDN: PZDLEM

Abstract: The subject of the study is the evolution of the "little man" as a literary phenomenon based on the novels "Overcoat" by Gogol and "Irrepressible Tambourine" by Remizov. It is noted that the content of the term under study is not limited to the semantics of the image, which contains a meaningful characteristic of a certain type of literary hero, but depends on the narrative structure of the work. This position of the "little man" in Gogol and Remizov is at the intersection of interrelated factors: details as a carrier of the grotesque in fictional reality and at the level of narrative instance, as well as modifications of a specific genre form, expressed in the original construction of the composition – Gogol overcoming the genre of physiological essay and Remizov household anecdote, respectively. The study shows that detail plays a key role in the poetics of the works of these authors and determines not only the dynamics of the image in a particular work, but also forms an appropriate aspect of influence. Remizov inherits the indirect characterization of a literary character through the details of the external world, adopted by Gogol, but in another way secures with their help the status of the main character of the "Irrepressible Tambourine" as a small person at the narrative level due to a more open organization of the horizon of readers' expectations.  The task required the synthesis of a historical and genetic approach with a genrological (genological) one, which made it possible to consider the category of "little man" as an element of poetics, reinterpreted by Remizov in "Irrepressible Tambourine" under the influence of Gogol's work, and its significance in connection with the transformation of the genre model with an individual author's approach to narration. The study showed that Remizov overcomes the epistemological uncertainty of the narrator in the "Overcoat" and, thanks to the details referring to the mythopoeic context (Ancient Russia, Eros), builds the image of a small man (Stratilatov), whose insignificance and mediocrity are less related to the plot of the "Irrepressible Tambourine" than with archetypal references that are carriers of narrative semantics stories and setting the meaningful direction of the author's thought. Thus, the unknowability of the foundations of being by the character is emphasized at the narrative level of the work, enhanced by the grotesque characterization. The corresponding conclusion, according to the author of the article, is relevant in analyzing the system of images of literary heroes in Remizov and his anticipation of the work of European expressionist prose writers with their emphasis on the existential, rather than social source of human suffering.

DOI:

EDN: JJGJIQ

Abstract: The author examines in detail the phenomenon of value conflict in the mass media space. With the advent of mass media, political conflict has acquired a new scale and role, developing on several planes: in reality, in the media, in social media and in the minds of the audience. Modern society is oversaturated with information, which leads to the question of the effective use of media resources and their uneven distribution. In the context of the information society, new types of conflicts arise related to the relationship of factual and necessary information, which emphasizes the importance of studying the mediatization of political conflicts and their impact on public relations. The media space is an environment where political conflicts are formed and resolved, thereby defining many aspects of social life and interaction. The article focuses on the role of values in the political process, reveals the influence of the media on the formation of attitudes and behavior in conflict conditions. The object of the study is a political conflict in the media space. The subject of the study is the mediatization of political relations in the context of the value characteristics of society. The purpose of the study is to determine the role and place of media in the processes of managing political and value conflict in modern society. The research uses activity-based, axiological and systematic approaches that allow us to penetrate into the essence of the phenomenon of the mass media space and trace the transformation of values in it that are the subject of conflict relations. The theoretical and practical significance of the study lies in the fact that it substantiates the need to revise classical approaches to the consideration of such categories as: information war, political and value conflict in the media space. As part of the conflict agenda, the media can chronicle events, mediate and make forecasts. They influence the formation of attitudes and behaviors of social groups in conflict conditions, have the potential to form stereotypes of constructive (or not) behavior. The study of the mediatization of political conflict in a value-based way allows us to identify the features and patterns of formation of models of "conflict behavior" in the information field (participating and observing parties), the choice of motives, strategies and opportunities in the conflict, goals and ideas about the development of the conflict.

Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of the metaphorical nomination of the subject as an instrument of deep-datified mediatization of a political incident of a special nature - the death/departure from active politics of a political leader on a national scale. The theoretical basis is the theory of deep mediatization, the cognitive theory of metaphor and the sociology of memory. The authors prove that the analysis of the metaphorical nominations of outstanding statesmen who left this world makes it possible to identify the public's attitude to the current state of political problematization and the structural profile of current political conflicts. Media texts and user-generated content in foreign English-language media were selected as empirical material for analysis. The resulting dataset is analyzed on the basis of the theory of metaphor in political discourse. The article shows that the death/departure from active politics of a political leader of the distant or relatively close past acts as a significant information event that generates the actualization of the political discursive field in a datatized online environment. English-language online media or online versions of traditional media were selected by the monitoring method in the system Semanticforce.ai : Associated Press, Bloomberg News, Reuters for the period 08.30.2022 ‒ 09.10.2022. A total of 12320 texts were taken into account. By means of lexical and semantic analysis, the nominations were selected from the texts and their classification into lexical and thematic groups was carried out. As a result of the study, it is shown that the death/departure from active politics of a political leader of the distant or relatively close past acts as a significant information event that generates the actualization of the political discursive field in a datatized online environment. - English-speaking online media assess the personality of Mikhail Gorbachev in a generally positive way: one of a kind, democrat, peacemaker, etc. - The thematic group of lexemes with the meaning of paradoxicity and inconsistency in English-speaking media is one of the most representative in the analyzed media discourse. - The paradoxical nature of personality assessment is linked to the counter-predictive assessment of Mikhail Gorbachev's activities during his presidency in European and Russian politics.

Abstract: Addressing the phenomenon of cultural and historical memory in the context of journalism theory and professional practice is important for a number of reasons. In a theoretical sense, it is necessary to take into account the structural features of the phenomenon of cultural and historical memory and the dynamics of its development, changes and influence on the processes taking place in journalism under the influence of the formation of a new system of post-global world order. The question of the essential institutional features of journalism in the spaces of sovereign macroregions can be solved only in the search for supporting specific basic principles of the existence of the profession. One of these principles should be cultural and historical memory, which has a national origin and institutional and cultural forms of expression, to which, among others (no less, but no more important), journalism should be attributed. The methodology of system analysis is used as a fundamental principle in the work. In determining the functional structure, the approaches developed within the framework of structural and functional analysis are used. In determining the interdependence of the structure of a historical fact in journalism and the spaces of its realization, discourse analysis is used in its functional application in the form of a discursive framework. The inclusion of the issues of cultural and historical memory in the processes of professional journalistic education requires the approval of the principle of subjectivity of journalism, its institutional nature, which allows initiation and full participation in social changes. The preservation and reproduction of cultural and historical memory is present as an integral part of the complex of professional journalistic functions. The functional complex of journalism manifests itself at the strategic level as participation in the expansion of cultural space and self-determination as an active part of cultural national history. At the operational and tactical level, journalism performs the functions of socio-cultural integration, socialization and adaptation. The structural components of a historical fact in journalism (denotation, meaning and concepts) are revealed to varying degrees depending on the implementation spaces. The methodology of the spatial approach used in the study of journalism allows us to identify the natural, material, social, personal and mediated media levels of space. Denotation plays a dominant role on the natural, material and social levels, meaning plays a dominant role on the personal level, meaning plays a dominant role on the media space level, and concepts play a dominant role in audience feedback systems.

Abstract: The subject of the study is the producing motivational bases of nominees in the Chinese and Russian languages. The object of the study is naming in two cultures. The author examines in detail such aspects of the topic as the theory of nomination and its unique features in relation to Chinese and Russian linguistic cultures; the concept of naming and the process of creating onyms in two languages under the influence of historical background. Particular attention is paid to the Chinese tone, which influences the creation of ononyms, as well as a comparative study of onoms in the Chinese and Russian languages. The study was based on provisions formulated by linguists who study issues related to naming and nomination theory: Y.Y. Huang, A.K.K. Chan, V. Mathesius and others. Research methods: systematization and generalization, etymological analysis, conceptual analysis, linguocultural analysis. The main conclusions of the study are the provisions formulated based on the results of the comparative analysis: in Chinese culture, names are chosen to convey certain meanings and connotations. Chinese proper names often consist of two or three characters, with the surname coming first. Surnames are usually passed down through generations and carry with them a deep sense of tradition and origin. Names are often chosen to reflect virtues or values that parents hope to embody in their child. Names can also be chosen based on elements of Chinese astrology, such as the five elements and 12 animal signs. In Russian culture, names also have important meaning and are chosen based on many factors. They usually consist of a first name, a patronymic (derived from the father's name) and a last name. Surnames are usually inherited and reflect the ethnic or regional origin of the family. Names may be chosen based on religious significance, family traditions, or popular trends. The author’s special contribution to the study of the topic is that the article summarizes the main similarities and differences in Russian and Chinese naming. The novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time, based on etymological analysis, it established the relevant features of naming in the Chinese and Russian languages, which are also presented in a comparative aspect.

Abstract: The issue of attribution of the creative method of V. Pelevin, implemented in later works, clarification of the author's artistic principles is acute for modern literary criticism. The article attempts to determine the specifics of the implementation of magical motif in Pelevin's works as artistic tool that allows to reflect reality in a work of art. The subject of the research is magical motif in artistic structure of late novel prose, namely in the novel «Secret Views of Mount Fuji» (2018). Such works as: «The Holy Book of the Werewolf» (2004), «Empire V» (2006), «Love for Three Zuckerbrins» (2014), «Invincible Sun» (2020) and «KGBT +» (2022) are also mentioned. The article is notable for its scientific novelty: for the first time magical elements are revealed in late novels of the author, specificity of the acting hero is indicated. The features of the embodiment of the magical in works at the level of the plot, the chronotopic organization of the text, in speech and the system of characters are presented. We additionally seek to answer the research question: is it right to consider V. Pelevin in the context of magical realism as a special type of thinking? It is noted that the author includes mythological and folklore reminiscences in the narrative: V. Pelevin refers to recognizable mythologemes, transfers well-known literary, mythological, folklore characters and typical magical creatures to a different chronotopic pattern, while maintaining their recognizability, which, together with the comparison by combining the components of magical prose with structural, plot and other elements of Pelevin's novels, allows us to answer the question in the affirmative. Structural and cultural-historical methods were used.

Abstract: The object of research of this article is a novel by Mark Z. Danilevsky's "House of Leaves" in the context of postmodernism. The subject of the research is some concepts of the theory of poststructuralism – discourse, genealogy, "death of the author" – implemented in the work "House of Leaves" through reductive, metaphorical or allusive implantation into the fabric of the novel. A general analysis is given and the problem of the correlation between the theories of poststructuralism and postmodernism is outlined. The selection and analysis of theoretical works on a given problem has been carried out, and working concepts have been formulated, used as tools for analyzing forms, figures of poetics, as well as for interpreting the novel "House of Leaves".As a consequence, the article presents a detailed description of one of the sides of the artistic method of Mark Z. Danilevsky (the use of poststructuralism theories as a figure of novel poetics), which allows us to judge the techniques and means of artistic expression that determined the form of the novel. In this regard, the article discusses the so-called "form effects", for example: synchrony, the capture of a real figure by a simulacrum, the creation of genealogical–artistic images, the establishment of a special time mode – "simultaneity", etc. The novelty of the research lies in the fact that we have considered the interpretation of the work from the point of view of poststructuralism theories, as a result of which new formal techniques and mechanisms of their use in the creation of a work of art have been revealed.

Abstract: The article is devoted to the problem of translation and reader reception of L. N. Tolstoy's novels "War and Peace", "Anna Karenina" and "Resurrection" in China. The subject of the research in the article is the history of the translation reception of these three novels and their perception by Chinese readers. The material of the article was the Chinese review site"Douban. Reading". The purpose of this article is to analyze and compare the chronology of the work of Chinese authors on translations of three novels by Leo Tolstoy and the reviews of Chinese readers on them. Descriptive, analytical and comparative methods are used in the course of the study. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that the attempt of a comprehensive study of Chinese translations and reader's perception of three novels by Leo Tolstoy is being carried out for the first time in the science of Russian literature. As a result of the research, it is proved that of all the Russian classics, L. N. Tolstoy is one of the most popular in critical, translation and reader reception in China. By the middle of the twentieth century, three of the author's most famous novels were translated from the original Russian into Chinese. Currently, they still have a high research value, discussions of readers of these translations in China are also actively underway, while the novel "Resurrection" has the largest number of translations (30), and "Anna Karenina" is most popular with recipient readers. The result of this scientific work will be an addition to the knowledge of Russian literature, will expand the idea of the artistic world of Leo Tolstoy. The scientific and practical significance of the proposed work lies in the possibility of using its results in research works in the field of Russian-Chinese literary interrelations. In addition, the results of the study can be applied to the development of educational courses, as well as in traditional practice for commenting on the works of Leo Tolstoy.

Abstract: In this paper, the author addresses the features of the supertexts based on the modern Russian novels, namely postmodern works, the genre of which can be defined as fantasy. One of the areas of research is the interpretation of the author's myth, as well as understanding the role of myth in literature. The subject of the study is an end-to-end code that unites the prosaic macrocycles of modern authors as a supertext unity. The object of the study is the macrotext as a format of a literary work in the literature of modern Russian writers. The authors consider in detail such aspects of the topic as the cross-cutting theme of an alien / adopted / unrecognized / illegitimate child and its connection with the genus and family, and the implementation of this theme in novels combined into trilogies or macrocycles. Both general scientific research methods and specialized philological ones were used in the article, namely: the method of qualitative content analysis and the narrative method, the methods of idealization and deduction are secondary methods of working with the material. The leading method was the interpretation of literary texts, which were the source of the parktic research material. The main function of the myth is to reflect a certain image of reality, being an add-on above it, containing specific semantic models and roles distributed among the characters, and also an expression of the author's position. The author's myth can be described as a playful, mosaic, inverse construct. The conclusions presented in the article can be used in further analysis of the work of modern writers, as well as when working with the concept of "author's myth" and studying the transformation of myth (both archaic and social, cultural, etc.) in modern postmodern literature. A special contribution of the authors to the research of the topic is the consideration of this motif in its diversified interpretation in various works and the connection of this motif with the onomastic code of works as one of the principles of the formation of a supertext.

Abstract: The author examines the genre diversity of A.P. Chekhov's literary work. It is noted that Chekhov's works have an acute social orientation, pronounced psychologism, and a subtle artistic description of the literary characters. It is said that an interested reader can observe a deep insight into everyday reality, while experiencing a sense of inevitability of fundamental changes in society. Attention is paid to the speech features of Chekhov's characters, which allow us to accurately characterize their natural essence in a sufficiently capacious form. At the same time, the importance of using the innovative subtext in the works of Anton Chekhov, the linguistic means of character behavior, is fixed, taking into account the fact that the text and the subtext are separated and often contradict each other. It is stated that the bright artistic talent of A.P. Chekhov demonstrated the power of typicality, which allowed the images of his many literary creations to become household names. In addition, the features of Anton Chekhov's dramaturgy, his depiction of real life on the stage, and a detailed description of everyday life are outlined. It is said about the reception of Chekhov's dramatic works by modern domestic and foreign masters of culture. It is concluded that the demand for individual author's receptions of Chekhov's intertext in modern drama certainly confirms the relevance of his works to date. It is emphasized that this is due to the socio-philosophical nature of theatrical productions that touch on moral issues of human existence, since Chekhov's desire for the truth of life and the truth of everyday life creates prerequisites for increased interest in them at all times. A common thread is the idea that the prose and drama of the creator formed the conditions for the further development of realistic traditions in world literature.

Abstract: The focus of this article is the speech actualization of taxis categorial meanings of simultaneity and non-simultaneity in German statements with temporal-taxis prepositions. The purpose of the study is to determine the process of taxis actualization as a result of intercategorial connections and interactions of semantic categories representing the idea of time in modern German. The subject of this study is the issue of taxis actualization in the German language, considered in the context of the implementation of intercategorial relations of taxis, temporality and aspectuality. The material of this study is German utterances with actional deverbatives die Trennung, die Scheidung and temporal-taxis prepositions bei, mit, seit, bis, nach, vor, obtained by directed sampling from the electronic database of the Leipzig Corpus (LC). In the course of the study, it was determined that the intercategorial interaction of taxis with the semantic categories of aspectuality and temporality determines the actualization of various primary taxis categorial situations of simultaneity, precedence and succession. These are temporal-taxis, durative-taxis, iterative-taxis, phase-taxis, and other categorical values. As a result of the study, it was revealed that the segment of the zone of intersection of the categories of taxis, temporality and aspectuality is constituted by temporal-taxis prepositions, temporal adverbials and aspectual quantifiers. The latter include durative, iterative and phase adverbials and attributes. They function as indicators of conjugated primary taxis categorial situations.

Abstract: The subject of the study is the media linguistic features of the text of a tabletop role-playing game (TRPG). The purpose of the work is to identify the essential features of the media text and answer the question: can media accompaniment of a tabletop role–playing game be considered a media text? Despite the sufficient elaboration of the topic of media communications on the Internet, the research material is a little-studied phenomenon. The research material is transcripts of sessions of the board RPG "Dungeons & Dragons" from fragments of the TV show "Critical Role" on streaming platforms. The study examined the emergence and development of the media text concept, noting a significant expansion of this term semantics in the context of media globalization. Further, the typological properties of the media text as an object of linguistic media research were systematized and the text of the TRPG was analyzed for compliance with existing criteria. The article used descriptive and comparative methods; a statistical method to assess the popularity of the TRPG. When working with the transcript of the game, Python programming methods were implemented: to increase clarity and create a correct text transcription. As a result, conclusions were drawn about the presence of such media linguistic features in the media accompaniment of TRPG as collective authorship, hypertextuality, interactivity and etc., which constituted the scientific novelty of the study. Comparative analysis by criteria allowed us to trace qualitative changes in the typology of media texts. In addition, the expediency of expanding the terminological apparatus of media linguistics was emphasized, which correlates with the study of transmedia narration. The results of the observations can be applied to improve the text-generation that accompanies the gameplay, and can also be used to conduct similar studies based on the speech material of TRPGs.

Abstract: The article analyzes the meteorological vocabulary in the Mongolian languages, which characterizes hot weather. The linguistic means of expressing hot weather in the worldview of the Mongolian peoples can be represented as integral and consistent natural phenomena that are systematically used by traditional speakers in direct, figurative, comparative, evaluative and metaphorical meanings. The object of the study is nominative units (words, phrases, phraseological units) in Mongolian languages that characterize hot weather. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the compatibility of the "halun" meteorological system. The bearers of a nomadic civilization are directly dependent on the natural and climatic features that determined the state of nomadic management, orientation and location of a person in nature and society. The relations of nature, man and the animal world, reflected in the ethnic consciousness of native speakers, had their own systemically categorical forms of expression in linguistic pictures of the world. For the Mongolian peoples, in addition to universal verbal forms of expression of these relations, the whole variety of linguistic and cultural approaches was used to express figuratively comparative and evaluative aesthetic means of language. This article uses a descriptive method, a comparative method, a method of linguistic and cultural analysis of lexical units. In the linguistic picture of the world of a traditional native speaker, the halun lexeme "heat, depending on the temperature regime, can denote different degrees of heat manifestation: from ordinary heat to incredible, exhausting heat, affecting the physical condition of a person. As examples, the author uses Mongolian lexicographic sources, texts of artistic and folklore works, in which lexemes denoting hot weather were analyzed from meteorological vocabulary. Meteorological vocabulary characterizing hot weather is considered in the article from the point of view of their composition, semantics, morphological-syntactic and lexico-semantic method of education. The peculiarity of artistic and folklore texts makes it possible to consider a specific lexeme in its various combinations, which makes it possible to fully reveal the features of the semantic structure of the word. In this aspect, meteorological names characterizing hot weather in the Kalmyk language are considered and systematized for the first time.

Abstract: The article is a review of existing scientific views on irony as a phenomenon at the junction of several disciplines. Definitions of this phenomenon are presented from the point of view of philosophical, aesthetic, anthropological, literary, linguistic approach. The views on irony as a category of the comic, a worldview category, as a way of perceiving and comprehending reality are listed. The author points out that in the process of communication, irony is a kind of barrier to dividing participants into "ironic" and their "victims", that is, those who are able to interpret irony and the "uninitiated". Discursive irony is considered as a product of interaction, cooperation between the author and the addressee, as a result of which an ironic effect may arise (if the ironic utterance is correctly interpreted) or not (in the case of a communicative failure).  Various interpretations of the concept of "irony" are considered in comparison, arguments are given justifying the author's agreement / disagreement with existing formulations. The focus of the article is on irony, an effect that arises as a result of interaction between interlocutors: the ironic speaker and the recipient who perceives and interprets irony. The author's contribution to the development of the theory of discourse is expressed in the analysis of irony in English and Russian linguistic cultures. The article highlights the main socio-cultural and linguodiscursive characteristics of irony. The conclusion is made about the importance of irony in communication, about its role in the verbal and emotional intelligence of the participants of the discourse. The novelty of the research lies in the fact that in the proposed work irony is considered as an integral characteristic of modern English and Russian discourse, which ensures that the speaker achieves the fulfillment of a communicative intention. The main result of the work is the postulate about the ethnostilistic labeling of irony, which opens up wide prospects for studying the features of irony in national discourses. The data presented in the article can be used for the further development of ethnostilistics, linguistic pragmatics, and the theory of intercultural communication.

Abstract: The present article is dedicated to the concepts of time and space as a fragment of the Russian and Chinese linguistic worldviews. Notions of time are fundamental to any culture and people's worldview, hence in this study, we attempt to "unify" the aspects of Chinese and Russian time and space that we have identified through research. Our research object, as a fragment of the Russian linguistic worldview, is connected with notions of time and space. The subject of our investigation is the linguistic means in which Russian speakers' notions of time are expressed, considered against the backdrop of the Chinese language in lexical, semantic, and grammatical aspects. The aim of the study is to identify and describe the main features of the representation of time in Chinese and Russian languages, as well as to highlight the main differences in the representation of time and space in the Chinese and Russian linguistic worldviews. Structural-semantic, linguacultural, and comparative analysis methods are employed to analyze the conceptual models of time in these two languages. The scientific novelty of this article lies in the attempt to use a spatial model to describe the concept of time in order to identify possible temporal dimensions in language, as well as in attempting to interpret and generalize the notions of time from the perspective of the cognitive perception of Chinese language speakers. The theoretical significance of this article lies in the endeavor to specify the cognitive perception of language speakers through the analysis of historical and cultural origins of time models, as well as in generalizing some regularities of time expression in modern languages. Studying the fundamental concept of time and space models contributes to the further development of cognitive models, translation, teaching Russian and Chinese as foreign languages etc.

Abstract: The multidimensional study of women's poetry is one of the promising strategies of modern Russian literary criticism, which allows us to reveal not only the tools of women's writing, but also the female mentality, feminine identity, and the peculiarities of reflection by a female author of the natural and social world. Among the female authors, a special place is occupied by the Erzya poet Alina Podgornova, whose works trace postmodern trends. The subject of the research in the article is the means of representing the lyrical "I" in the poet's poems. The purpose of the work is to analyze a number of the author's works, to determine the system of images through which the lyrical "I" is represented, to trace their conditioning by the postmodern worldview of the poetess. The material was composed of poems from the collections "Except rhymes", "Stranded" ("Thought"). The methodological basis of the work is determined by the structural and semantic analysis of the lyrical text, through which the structural components of the poetic image, its semantic organization, and symbolic semantics are described. The scientific novelty of the study is determined by the fact that, in the stated aspect, A. Podgornova's lyrics are for the first time considered and introduced into the context of Russian literary criticism. The article argues that the emotional and psychological state of the lyrical heroine A. Podgornova is due to the author's worldview and axiological concept, his perception of the world as chaos, moral apocalypse. The poetess's worldview is filled with negative social manifestations that destroy the spiritual and moral essence of a person, leveling universal values. The conclusions and provisions presented in the article expand the understanding of the state and development of modern Mordovian literature.

Abstract: Since ancient times, doctors have usually played the image of rescuers who save lives. As a symbol-rich image, "doctor" often enters the scope of writers' creativity and becomes a typical creative theme. This paper explores the image of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) doctors in literature. The purpose of the study is to understand how TCM practitioners are portrayed and represented in literature, to analyze their social and cultural influence and their impact on people's perceptions and attitudes towards TCM. The relevance of this article is that it can help people to better understand the position and image of TCM in different historical periods and cultural environments, as well as its relationship with society, culture and people's lives. The subject of this paper is the image of TCM doctors in literary works of a certain period, region or cultural context such as ancient works, modern literary works and works of specific writers. By analyzing the images in different works, the diversity of such images of TCM physicians such as wise doctors and mysterious healers can be demonstrated. This paper uses methods of literary analysis, including close reading of the text, character analysis, plot and theme study. The text is also studied in the context of historical and cultural context to understand the views and attitudes of the society of the time towards TCM and doctors. The scientific novelty of studying the image of traditional Chinese medicine in Chinese literature gives us an interdisciplinary perspective that integrates literature with medicine and cultural studies and offers new ways to deeply understand TCM culture and human perception of health. The results of the study indicate the diversity of TCM physicians' images in the literature. In addition, the findings may reflect different understandings and evaluations of TCM in different periods and cultural contexts.
