Zvezdina E.Y., Zvezdina G.P. - Psychosemantic Features of the Mental Representation of the Volunteer Image Formed by the Youth of Different Generations pp. 8-19

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2017.2.23744

Abstract: The authors of the article analyze features of the mental representation of the volunteer image formed by young students of different generations. The methodological basis of the research involves the semantic analysis of the concept of the Volunteer as it is described in the definition dictionaries; psycholinguistic analysis of the results of the mass associative experiment when the Volunteer image was used(based on RAS materials); analysis of the features of the representation of the image of a volunteer in verbal youth associations. The authors have revealed that there was a mental transformation of the views of youth and their understanding the volunteer's role. The young generation of the 90s associated a volunteer with a Komsomol member, army, battle and military operations. Today's 20-year-olds associate a volunteer with an active assistant, whose actions are aimed at constructive transformation of the world. The authors discover a cultural stereotype established within the culture of that society whose age they are in the mental representations of the Volunteer image presented by different generations.

Smolina T.L., Melnikova A.A. - How Russians View Themselves: Psychological Study of National Auto-Stereotypes pp. 15-22

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2017.4.24335

Abstract: The subject of the article is the national auto-stereotypes of Russians. Perestroika and the ensuing social transformation significantly influenced the collective representation, touching upon the system of ethnic identity to the structure which includes ethnic auto-stereotypes. The need to examine the direction of this transformation of the Russian ethnic stereotype was the reason which defined the subject of the article. The authors not only theoretical but also empirical study of the substantive content of the auto-stereotypes of Russians. In the empirical investigation two methods were used for data collection: projective drawing and questionnaire. This choice of methods allowed us to obtain data from two strata: units of consciousness (questionnaire) and unconscious (projective drawing). The scientific novelty of research is determined, first and foremost, it is a combination of the methods, allowing to study not only autostereotype conscious representation and unconscious, it is difficult verbalize. The result confirmed the correctness of this approach, showing: between conscious and unconscious auto-stereotypes of Russians there is considerable variation. If the result of questionnaire describes the representatives of the people as a whole positively, the processing of projective drawings shows that unconscious auto-stereotypes of Russians have quite a large number of negative connotations.

Abstract: The authors of the article substantiate the problem of developing the theoretical and methodological foundations of the historical and psychological study of the development of regional psychology, which reveals specifics in comparison with the development of national psychology; the relevance and prospects of the study of collective forms of organization and development of regional psychology, the implementation of a subjective approach in their study. The subject of the theoretical analysis is the methodological foundations of the implementation of the subjective approach in the historical and psychological study of regional psychology. Based on the theoretical and methodological foundations of the history of psychology, proposed and substantiated in the works of V.A. Koltsova, the fundamentals of the implementation of the subjective approach at the philosophical, epistemological, general scientific, special scientific and specifically scientific levels of the methodology of historical and psychological research are determined. The main attention is paid to the analysis of the conceptual provisions presented in the scientific works of M.G. Yaroshevsky, philosophical and general psychological publications of S.L. Rubinstein and A.V. Brushlinsky, as well as the socio-psychological works of A.L. Zhuravlev. This makes it possible to determine the possibilities of studying a collective subject as active, self-determined and self-organizing, and to limit the scope of application of the principle of determinism as causality in explaining the development of regional psychology. An important conclusion of the analysis is the statement as the most important basis for the study of the dynamics of collective forms of organization of science of A.L. Zhuravlev's ideas about the levels and stages of a collective subject, implemented in the historical and psychological studies of the development of domestic psychology by O.A. Artemeva. The application in the history of psychology of the general scientific principle of systemacy and specifically scientific principles of hierarchy and unity of theory, experiment and practice allows us to reveal the dependence of scientific knowledge on the practice of its subject and to study the development of regional psychology as a multipronged, multidimensional and multilevel process, taking into account its systemic determination. The scientific novelty of the approach presented in the article consists in a theoretically justified appeal to the poorly developed problem of the development of regional psychology and the definition of the methodological foundations of its solution in line with the history of psychology.

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2015.4.14224

Abstract: The research subject of the present article is the components of the economic mentality of the student youth in the southern region. The authors have applied the axiological approach to the study. Economic mentality is understood as a system that combines notions, meanings and values governed and implemented in the economic sphere of life. The periphery of the mentality presents the socio-psychological characteristics (attitudes, values, forms of discourse and other). Components of economic mentality include the meanings, values, particular economic behaviour (consumption, distribution, increment of resources). It is possible to identify the type of traditional mentality, innovation, transition and postinnovation that will set the trends of human economic behavior. The research methodology is based on classic explanations. The authors have also applied a set of diagnostic methods (measuring components of the economic mentality) and statistical processing of data (correlation and factor analysis) that allows you highlight certain factors affecting the research subject. The respondents have been divided into the two groups that differ in certain parameters (family income for instance) and allow to differentiate the results of the study. The main conclusions is the idea that measuring the indicators of the economic mentality allow to select certain types of economic behavior of respondents with different income. The novelty of the research is caused by the fact that the research involved students of the southern region and the results have been compared with the data of foreign researchers.
