Abstract: Professional experience assists specialists in processing information more quickly and effectively making precise decisions. Visual expertise, as a crucial component of experience, refers to the capability to rapidly perceive visual information within a specific professional domain, acquired through systematic education, professional development, and practice. Numerous studies utilize eye-tracking methods to analyze the relationship between professional experience and gaze patterns. For instance, experienced dermatologists have developed optimal scanning patterns, allowing them to efficiently allocate attention and accurately identify key diagnostic features within images amidst numerous secondary details. The purpose of this study is to analyze changes in oculomotor patterns after completing the author’s training program for doctors, aimed at versatile aesthetic analytics of the face, building individual treatment protocols and increasing the patient’s adherence to aesthetic medicine in order to assess the possibility of developing observation in the conditions of short-term training. Thirty cosmetic doctors participated in the study, which utilized eye-tracking methods with the Neuroburo program-hardware complex. The study was conducted in two phases – before and after training – with 15 patient facial images exhibiting various dermatological issues presented on a computer screen to the cosmetic doctors. Participants were tasked with identifying signs of dermatological disorders of the patients. Following training, a decrease in the number of fixations, an increase in saccadic amplitude, and a reduction in the overall scanning path length were observed among the cosmetic doctors. These findings indicate a more optimized perception strategy and suggest a more systematic and directed approach to diagnostic image analysis. The results suggest an enhanced global perception ability among the doctors, which may aid in recognizing broader patterns and structures and understanding the wider context and relationships between details.

Abstract: Emotional burnout and professional maladaptation are quite common problems for many professionals who work with people, especially teachers. It is known that the phenomena under consideration can not only be related to each other, but also lead to serious problems with somatic and mental health, and can also provoke poor-quality, negligent performance of their duties, which, in turn, can lead to even greater negative consequences. To date, in the scientific literature there is practically no analysis of the connection between emotional burnout and neuropsychic maladjustment with other clinical and psychological characteristics of summer camp counselors. At the same time, the initial results of research into the level of burnout and work maladjustment indicate a fairly wide distribution of these phenomena. The purpose of our research was to study the relationship between the clinical and psychological characteristics of children's camp counselors and the level of their emotional burnout and neuropsychic maladjustment. The study involved 81 counselors from different children's camps with 24-hour stay. All employees completed a package of methods aimed at studying emotional burnout, neuropsychic maladaptation, motivation, personality structure, reflexivity, anxiety, communication skills, and emotional intelligence. The article presents the results of a study of correlations between indicators of emotional burnout, the level of neuropsychic maladaptation with other clinical and psychological characteristics of children's camp teachers. These phenomena are associated with a number of personal characteristics: anxiety, emotional intelligence, communicative competence, personality structure. In particular, counselors with a low level of burnout and a low level of maladjustment were characterized by sociability, trustfulness, emotional stability, an adequate reaction to conflict situations and a low level of anxiety. The results obtained are partially confirmed by our previous research and make a new contribution to the understanding of those factors that influence the state of counselors in terms of human capital. However, we also identified some contradictions in the data, such as the lack of a statistically significant connection between emotional burnout and the level of motivation. This indicates that motivation may play a less significant role in the formation of burnout among summer camp counselors compared to other professional groups, such as teachers. Of particular interest is the conclusion about the connection between the level of emotional burnout and neuropsychic maladjustment. There is a high level of maladaptation among counselors with a high level of burnout, which indicates a connection between these phenomena.

Abstract: The study was sponsored by the Russian President's grant for state support of young Russian scientists and PhDs (MK-7500.2016.6). Industrial safety depends, first of all, on the employee himself or herself, not only his or her attitude to labor protection but also personal traits, feelings and efficiency of psychological self-regulation. The authors believe that locus control is one of the most important personal markers of the personnel psychological safety as a number of researchers (Eysenck, Emelianov, Kostrov, Kotik, Kulagin, Tsgoev, etc.) underline the relationship between them. The article is devoted to the study of the control locus as a personal marker of the psychological safety for oil and gas employees in the Arctic. To achieve this goal, a study was carried out at the oil and gas producing industry with a shift work organization in the territory of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (the duration of the rotation arrival is 30 days). The study involved 70 workers aged 24 to 60 years (the mean age is 38.7 ± 1.3). The work experience of the shifted method varies from 0.5 to 31 years (9.53 ± 1.2). Methods of research are studying documentation, monitoring the work process, questioning, psychophysiological and psychological testing, statistical methods of data analysis. Statistical methods of analysis are descriptive statistics; and multivariate variance analysis. Statistical processing of data was carried out using the statistical package IBM SPSS Statistics (licensing agreement No. Z125-3301-14 (SAO named after Lomonosov)). The most important parameters of the control locus, which have a statistically significant relationship with most components of the psychological safety of oil and gas workers in the Arctic, are internality in health and disease, in interpersonal and family relationships, and in the field of failures. It has been revealed that in order to provide psychological safety for oil and gas specialists in shift work organization in Arctic conditions, it is necessary to have a moderate level of externality in the field of failures, and there is a moderate internal locus of control in the field of health and illness, family and interpersonal relations.

The author of the article makes an assumption that the degree of positive evaluation based on one’s appearance may be conditioned by the ethnocultural and gender identity. The author of the article provides the results of the comparative analysis of positive/negative esthetic evaluations, attractiveness for the opposite sex and the degree of correspondence of the appearance of different ethnocultural groups to the male or female gender. The author of the article used a modified variant of ‘the estimation and interpretation of the appearance and its correspondence to the gender and age constructs’ (published by v. A. Labunskaya in 2009). This method evaluated the following types of appearance: slavic appearance, caucasian appearance and asian appearance as well as their gender identity. The author shows that there is a statistically significant difference in the degree of positive evaluations of different appearances depending on the ethnocultural type. The gender identity of the person being evaluated also has an influence on the degree of positive evaluations of particular types of appearance.

Abstract: The article draws the attention of psychologists and professiologists to the possibility of using the twin study method as a tool and model for confirming provisions of the concept of personal and professional specifications. It is assumed that the analysis of personal and behavioral characteristics of members of monozygotic twin pairs confirms the existence of a genetically stable personality structure corresponding to a particular system of professional conditions and requirements of professional activity. As an illustration the author presents the experimental results of the study of personal and behavioral characteristics of monozygotic parted and unparted twins. The author indicates methodological limitations in the dissemination of these findings and the need for comprehensive diagnostics of personnel through comparison, verification, and completion of the obtained experimental data and procedures. Based on the results of theoretical analysis and empirical tests, the author makes the conclusion about the presence of both natural and hereditary bases of professional orientation. The results of the study prove the author's concept of personal and professional specifications of personnel and the need for modeling it in order to improve the quality of psychological selection of the staff and supervision and assistance of employees at an organization.

Petrov V.E., Abasov M.M. - Some Psychometric Characteristics of the Driver's Reliability Inventory

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2016.5.19652

Abstract: The article is devoted to increasing safety of the road traffic through implementing preventive psychological diagnostics of the driver's disposition for aggressive (dangerous) driving. The object of the research is the personality inventory aimed at assessing the driver's reliablity as well as whether the inventory can predict the driver's style of driving. The subject of the research is construct validity as a psychometric characteristic of the inventory. It is the characteristic that defines the quality (i.e. accuracy) of studying this or that individual psychological trait. For this reason, the authors have conducted the psychometric research of validity based on comparison of obtained results with inventory indicators which served as the standard (basis) for evaluation. The basic research methods combined diffedrent diagnostic methods (tests) and methods of mathematical and statistical data processing. The following tests and inventories have been used: Californian psychological inventory, Willed self-control inventory (offered by A. Zverkov and E. Eidman), Risk liability inventory (A. Shmelev), John Taylor's personal anxiety inventory, Five-factor questionnaire, Self-assertiveness Strategy Inventory (offered by A. Nikitin and N. Kharlamenkova) and BPAQ questionnaire. Comparitive correlation analysis of the diagnostic scales of the Driver's realiablity inventory with relevant indictors of the aforesaid seven tests has allowed to make a conclusion about the construct validity and good psychometric characteristics of the Inventory. The scientific novelty of the research is casused by the fact that the authors have tested a new innovative method of preventive dianogistics of the driver's disposition towards aggressive (dangeous) driving. Such analysis of personal traits of acting and future drivers allows to assist them with psychological help if necessary, to improve their style of driving and, finally, to increase the safety of road traffic. The results of the research also show that the Inventory can be used not only for drivers but also for internal affairs officers.

Abstract: Research and socio-economic conditions allow to determine the actual problem which is a contradiction between the high demand on the labor market within the framework of working professions and undeveloped motivation of graduates for working in their specialty. These contradictions can be resolved by examining the professional orientation of students during their education process based on the introduction of modern psychological technologies. Thus, the purpose of the research was to study a professional orientation development of auto mechanics during their college years. The study was conducted from September 2015 to May 2016 and involved 32 Polytechnical College students aged from 16 to 18 years (the average age is 17.09 ± 0.211). For the purposes of the teaching experiment all the respondents were divided into two groups, experimental group that involved the first-year students majoring in automechanics and the control group consisting of the first-year students studying welding. The authors have also prepared a 20-academic hour program of professional orientation development (10 lessons, each lasting for 2 academic hours). The lessons were given from March to April 2016. The program proved to be efficient. The authors have recorded the statistically important increase in the number of the experimental group's students with the high level of developed professional orientation after the lessons compared to the control group to which the  lessons were not given. The program prepared by the authors is more oriented at the development of such components of professional orientation as the motivation, needs, values and the level of reflection.

Abstract: The study sponsored by the Russian President's grant for state support of young Russian scientists - PhD (MK-7500.2016.6). The article is devoted to the justification of a model of psychological safety of oil and gas shift workers in the Arctic. Industrial safety in the first place depends on the employee, not only on his attitude to the observance of health and safety requirements but also on one's personal traits, his subjective experience and effectiveness of his psychological self-regulation. Thus, the analysis of the employee safe behavior should involve not only industrial and working conditions but also characteristics of one's psychological safety as a potential opportunity to avoid production errors. The study conducted on the oil and gas industry with a shift labour organization in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug (shift duration is 30 days). The study involved 70 people aged from 24 to 60 years (the average age is 38.7 ± 1.3). Research methods included: analysis of documentation, monitoring the work process, questionnaires, psycho-physiological and psychological testing, and statistical methods of data analysis. The study has clarified the concept of psychological safety as a mental state of control over a range of external and internal factors of the ergatic system triggering internal personality means to be professionally efficient at the psychophysiological and psychological levels. The authors introduce  and empirically support the model of psychological safety that is comprised of the following components: psychophysiological level of the functional status (reduced / optimal); psychological level of the functional state (emergency / economical); the image of an labour object (low undifferentiated risk assessment / highly differentiated risk assessment); the image of a labour subject (highly undifferentiated / moderately differentiated self-assessment); the image of the subject-object and subject-subject relations (neutral / negative / positive).

Khalilullina D.Z. - Professional Values of the Actor of Labor and Corporate Culture of an Organization

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2015.5.14465

Abstract: The dynamics of professional values of personnel in organizations is analyzed. The object of the research was the professional values of different organizations with different forms of ownership and purposes of activity (commercial and non-commercial purposes). The purpose of the research was to determine peculiarities of the dynamics of professional values of employees at an organization. The results of the research prove the author's hypothesis that specialists of different majors have different values. The authenticity of the research results was supported by the good planning of the experiment, adequate choice of reliable and valid methods, sufficient volume and representation of the group of respondents and application of different statistical methods according to the objectives of the research. In her research Khalilullina has used the psychological test called «Values of the Actor of Professional Activity» (offered by Lvov and  Shlykova) that describes seven professional areas, each consisting of 64 factors allowing to identify professional values of employees. On the basis of empirical data the average indices have been calculated and analyzed. The results of the research of this group of respondents show that professional values are totally different for the studied areas. While there are differences between professional values, the following general tendency for all respondents can be observed: material values are the most important and communicative values are the least important. There are also the following tendencies for all types of professions: professional values are the most demonstrated and social values are the least demonstrated. These tendencies can be specific to a professional group of specialists. For the common tendencies there are differences in the significance and the fullness of the manifestation of professional values among specialists of different types of professions. The same differences exist in professional fields that have no common tendencies mentioned above. Professional values of specialists of various professions differ depending not only on their professional fields in general but also on individual factors composing each of the areas. This reflects the missing homogeneity of amounts and fullness of the manifestation of professional values within a single professional field. In addition, the low level of satisfaction of the majority of factors in professional activity can have a negative influence on the level of psychological safety of the respondents because their working conditions can conflict with their needs that are the basis of the professional values and motivation. This can lead to destructive psychological changes such as the increased level of anxiety, professional deformation, unclear life orientations and, finally, reduction of the effectiveness of corporate activities. The results of this research can be used: 1) to make recommendations on how to develop or improve the corporate culture of the company; 2) to create a motivational program for the specialists; 3) to develop the personnel policy of the organization; 4) to form working groups consisting of representatives of different cultures; 5) to organize the working process by managers at different levels; 6) to prepare guidelines for the top management; 7) to provide psychological assistance to employees including their adaptation to a new working place.

Abstract: The article is devoted to social and psychological aspects of the professional culture of designing engineers. The author of the article provides the results of the research of social and psychological aspects of the professional culture of designing engineers and associated value orientations and professional stereotypes of designing engineers working at industrial enterprises. The author also describes the results of evaluating the level of satisfaction of engineers with their professional activity. The analysis of obtained results allows to define the degree of readiness of engineers for adaptation to new social conditions in the age of innovative transformations. The analysis of activities performed by designing engineers working at industrial enterprises has shown that the majority of designing engineers dislike innovations and have a very vague idea about innovation process in general while expressing a positive attitude to creativity in work. The research evidently shows the contradiction between traditional values and stereotypes that slow down the process of adopting new values. The results of the research of social and psychological aspects of the professional culture of engineers show that: there is a certain divergence between value orientations of designing engineers and their views on the need to transform elements of their professional culture in accordance with innovation changes; their professional values are realized only when an engineer seeks new knowledge to cover the gaps in his profession culture but at the same time an engineer tends to ignore associated professional skills and abilities; there is a also a contradiction between value orientations and their need to change their professional culture and the majority of designing engineers do not have the aim to adopt innovations.

Abstract: The subject under research is the manipulative tendencies of managers, their management style, means of influence on subordinates and the level of satisfaction of the latter with the psychological cilmate in a group. Special attention is paid to the relation between manipulative tendencies of managers and their management style as well as partricular displays of the manipulative management style and means of influence on subordinates that are usually used by the managers with the manipulative tendencies. The empirical object of the research was the groups of industrial workers. In total, 155 respondents were involved in the research, 20 managers and 135 subordinates. The researchers used the questionnare suvey, comparative analysis and statistical data processing. To define the manipulative tendencies of managers, the researchers used the MAC-4 Inventory (adapted by V. Znakova). To analyze the psychological cilmate, the researchers applied the Social and Psychological Cilmate Inventory offered by A. Lutoshkina. The management style was defined with the help of the inventories developed by L. Ryumshina, the Management Style Inventory and Means of Manipulation Inventory.  The novelty of the research is caused by the fact that the researchers analyze the manipulative management style and means of manipulation used by managers in the process of managing their subordinates. The researchers show the dependence of the management style on whether a manager has manipulative tendencies or not. The researchers also describe general means of manipulation and influence on subordinates that are typical for managers disregarding their management style as well as specific means of manipulation used by managers with the manipulative management style. The researchers also examine the level of satisfaction with the psychological climate in groups of industrial workers managed by managers with different management styles.

Abstract: As the most unfavorable functional (psychophysiological) state of airline pilots, fatigue is being considered from the point of view of the recommended international standards of risk management safety. The authors of the article describe the basic types of fatigue and their typical features with respect to flying. The authors also give the description of the current state of pilot fatigue management for the purpose of ensuring flight safety in civil aviation. They define and describe the methodical approach to the flight safety management based on the guidelines of  the International Association of Civil Aviation. The research methods included: industrial psychology, engineering psychology, ergonomics, industrial psychophysiology, health risk assessment, life safety and risk management. The main contribution made by the authors to the development of the topic under research is the justification of the urgent need for the implementation of the mechanisms of the pilot fatique management recommended by the International Association of Civil Aviation. The apparent advantage of this approach is an opportunity to carry out a multi-level safety strategy allowing to manage the risks associated with fatigue regardless of their psychophysiological causes. This creates the prospects for implementing this strategy and providing psychophysiological safety in any sphere of navigation.

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2014.7.65240

Abstract: Adequate physical exercises and physical rehabilitation hold a prominent place in a set of measures aimed at preventing near-sightedness and progressive myopia. Physical exercises make a body healthier and activate functions of a body. Special physical exercises also have a favorable influence on indicators of physical fitness and results of action tests as well as formation of ocular refraction of children. The purpose of the present article is to evaluate the influence of the physical rehabilitation program on the indicators of physical fitness and results of action tests performed by young sportsmen with the low degree myopia. In order to define the level of physical fitness, the researcher used muscular endurance tests set forth by the regulatory and procedural guidelines of All-Russia Scientific Research Institute of Physical Education. To describe the physical condition of young sportsmen, the researcher has used the following tests: 30-meter distance running, shuttle running 3õ30, bows front from the sitting position, throwing a 3 kg stuffed ball from behind the neck, 6-minute running and a number of sit-ups per 30 seconds. 140 children aged from 8 to 15 years with the low degree myopia and accommodation spasms participated in the research. The experimental group included 110 children who have been diagnosed the low degree myopia in 44 % of all cases and the accommodation spasm in 56 % of all cases. The control group consisted of 30 children who have been diagnosed the low degree myopia in 46 % of all cases and the accommodation spasm in 54 % of all cases. The series of exercises was added to the general training. Children from the experimental group did exercises aimed at training strength and muscular endurance or other carriage exercises as well as adapted games or rhythmic gymnastics. By analyzing the dynamics of the indicators of physical fitness and results of action tests performed by the children with the low degree myopia, it can be assumed that the program had a positive influence on their health, in particular, increased functional capabilities of respiratory and circulatory organs as well as raised capacities for self-adaptation of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.

Noss I.N., Borodina T.I. - Personal-Professional Specification: Regional Aspect

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2016.9.21515

Abstract: In their research the authors focus on the regional aspect of personal-professional specification. They offer a general definition of the term 'regional specification' that reflects ethno-cultural, geographical and landscape peculiarities of corporate staff at the concrete level as some kind of an optimal structure of personal-professional qualities allowing an employee to perform his or her duties and to correspond to functional requirements of her or her profession. The authors analyze reginal specification as general and special qualities in verbal and cogitative, emotional-volitional, communicative and motivational spheres that constitute professional predictor modules. There are differences observed both in structures of personal qualities and systems of professional requirements. The authors also provide empirical data reflecting various forms of personal-professional specification under regional conditions. Specific regional features are proved through statistical procedures and criteria. The authors also apply procedures for defining statistically significant differences between groups in order to describe the main psychological indicators of the personnel in companies under research. By using the correlation analysis the authors also evaluate the relationship between experimental groups. As a result, the authors give the scientific and experimental substantiation of the term 'regional specifrication' that reflect ethno-cultural, geographical and landscape peculiarities of the staff. The authors clarify the structure of personal-professional qualities contributing to an efficient performance of labor functions in accordance with professional requirements in a particular region. They also prove and explain differences both in structures of personal qualities and systems of professional requirements discovered in the course of drawing mental graphs. The authors also view regional specification as a system of general and special qualities of the personnel in verbal and cogitative, emotional-volitional, communicative and motivational spheres that constitute professional predictor modules.

Abstract: The article is devoted to the problems of training counseling psychologists and describes aims and targets of their education. The author of the article analyzes stages and conditions of psycholog8ical education and describes Russian and foreign approaches to teaching counseling psychology. From the point of view of the general science, psychological assistance means the sphere and form of activity aimed at helping a person or a community to solve diverse problems created as a result of one’s life in a society. Psychological assistance is emotional, axiological and existential support of a person or a community in difficult situations arising in the course of their personal or social being. Professional identity of a psychologist reduces the distance between the ‘Functional Self’ and ‘Existential Self’, decreases anxiety and increases one’s personal potentials and becomes a condition and a stimulus for further personal growth and identity formation. One’s cognition defines his existential and social views. The ‘technological’ level of the described model determines the personal level and the latter returns one’s personal ‘Self’ to the role image of profession. Being absorbed in professional issues and methods, a psychological applies these or those conceptions, methods (technics) to himself and, in the course of this professional and personal improvement, returns from his ‘Existential Self’ to ‘Functional Self’ and achieves the desired professional and personal identity.

Abstract: Recent researches have demonstrated that professional activity favours personal self-fulfilment and gives the sense of one's independence and self-esteem. Hoewver, professional activity also reduces the time that a woman has left for her family fulfilment which may lead to a so-called 'gender overload', tension and intrapersonal conflict. In this article Kulagina raises a question about an intrapersonal role conflict experienced by employed women. The author describes types and reasons of intrapersonal conflicts that may be experienced by women and provides the results of the empirical research that demonstrate the influence of the intrapersonal role conflict experienced by employed women on their work motivation and satisfaction with different sides of professional activity. Employed women of different ages participated in the research. The total number of participants was 160 people. The theoretical basis of the research includes concepts of gender practices. In order to achieve the research objective, the author has used the following research methods: Employed Women's Role Conflict Inventory (by E. Korneeva), 'Professional Activity Motivation Questionnaire (by K. Zemfir adapted by A. Rean), Integral Satisfaction with Work (by N. Fetiskina, V. Kozlov, and G. Manuylov). The author has also used Student's t-test to carry out mathematical-statistical processing of data. Using the methods of mathematical statistics, the author has discovered that young married women with children have the moderate intensity level of the intrapersonal conflict. They experience a harder conflict compared to mature married women with children who have demonstrated a low intensity level of the gender conflict.

Abstract: One of most topical issues in practical psychology now is training of specialists and orientation of practical psychology at psychotherapeutic (curative) activity and medical terms. The first problem is that specialists in the field of psychological services get education both at higher educational establishments and educational centers of different psychological schools and branches of psychology. This creates a variety of professions in this area, the terms of educating are fundamentally different. The authors of the present article suggest to train specialists of numerous psychological schools and directions and to conduct their practical training for work in different spheres of human activity only by higher education establishments. The second problem of practical psychology is the medical terminology and the absence of clear theoretical definitions of professional activity of medics related to the problems of mental health and psychology. The authors of the article explain theoretical grounds for fundamental distinctions of activity of specialists in practical psychology and medical specialities and demonstrate that practical psychology is an obviously humanitarian profession. The article contains a brief historical review of the basic directions of practical psychology and the current situation in this sphere. The authors also provide an analytical review of existing psychological services and associated professions in Russia and Ukraine including services mentioned in the Classifications of Professions for these two countries and point out legislative contradictions from the point of view of existing problems.  The methodology of the research involves the development of the basic approaches to  training of personnel in the field of psychological services and theoretical substantiation of the principal differences between psychological activity and medical activity associated with mental health based on the analysis of scientific sources. The scientific novelty of the research is caused by the fact that the authors have provided an analytical review of existing professions in the sphere of psychological services in Russia and Ukraine including professions included in the Classifications of Professions for these countries. The authors also give the theoretical justification for the fact that psychologist is a humanitarian profession that does not involve a medical world view and curative manipulations and therefore should not use medical terminology. Disregarding his major, the main objective of a practical psychologist is to encourage the development of personality and mental processes in order to form a completely new Personality capable of solving professional and personal problems and taking care of his health including mental health. The article can be of interest to a wide range of specialists in the field of psychological services, such as researchers, practical psychologists and state officials of the education system.

Abstract: The article focuses on the problems of personal professional identification. The author of the article offers a general definition of ‘personal professional identification’ as an optimal structure (list) of personal professional qualities that allow an individual to be efficient in his work, i.e. to answer the main functional requirements of his profession. The author also analyzes closely associated terms such as ‘personal reliability’, ‘professional reliability’, ‘professional aptitude of an individual’ and ‘personal professional peculiarities’. The author also provides empiric data of personal professional identification in civil service. Theoretical concepts have been proved by the empiric data obtained though comparative analysis of personal professional qualities of workers of different majors. The analysis also involved statistical procedures of correlation analysis and methods of statistical inference. Psychological indicators were obtained by the means of objective, subjective and projective test methods. ‘Personal professional identification’ is a new term introduced into the sphere of psychological research as a structure of signs of a professional psychological phenomenon allowing to distinguish different types of personality versus professions. The concept of personal professional identification also involves the creation of professional psychological models within the framework of practical assessment of human resources for the purpose of career guidance, recruitment and support of workers in the process of their career and personal professional development.

Paleev F.N. - Medicine at the Approaches to Psychology

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2015.12.17548

Abstract: The article is devoted to numerous connections between medicine and psychology. Medicine has long been considered to be the sphere in which psychology gained a very broad practical implementation. In his research Paleev describes the three factors that are important for studying diseases. Until recently genetic heredity seemed to play the prevailing role in the origin of diseases. The human genome mapping offer better opportunities for healing people and avoiding genetic predisposition to particular diseases. However, in his article Paleev demonstrates that we should not overemphasize the role of the genetic factor. Quite often diseases have the physiological basis. The role of the psychological factor is also enormous. So called psychogenic diseases are a proof of that. These diseases are mostly studied by psychiatry. In this regard, the researcher notes that analysis of anamnesis (disease history) involves consideration of psychologically important events that took place in a patient's life. Psychology helps an individual to structure his life experience and to explain it to the surrounding world. In his research Paleev focuses on the history of medical practice and employs materials of medical psychology, psychiatry and psychoanalysis. He bases his research on the fundamental provisions of modern humanities. Appealing to various kinds of psychotherapy, the author of the article reasons  about the social status of psychotherapy. He also draws a distinction between psychiatry and psychoanalysis and emphasizes the difference between the fates of these sciences in our country. Special attention is paid to peculiarities of psychosomatic diseases. Touching upon the unity between body and soul, the author of the article also stresses out the fact that body and soul are inseparable elements of human personality. In his article Paleev also raises the question about the emerging role of psychotherapy in medical practice.

DOI:
10.7256/2454-0722.2014.12.65937

Abstract: The topic under review of the present research article is the processes of intermodal synthesis in a professional activity of a musician. During their professional training, musicians acquire a wide range of difficult and fine psychological skills which the author of the article considers to be the main professional resources in music performance. These skills include, first of all, intermodal connections, such as those between sight and motion, hearing and motion, and sight and hearing. Based on the author of the article, the level of the development of these skills has a direct influence on success and creativity of a musician. Within the framework of research, the main resources shall mean a sophisticated system of the musician’s professional reflection as well as the process of ideomotion and intermodal synthesis as the basic mechanisms of creating the comprehensive experience of a musician and an image of a music piece thereupon. The present research is based on the methodology of the systems approach because the given methodology is rather universal and allows to analyze complex fields and disciplines. When studying the phenomena and objective laws of music performance, Fedorova-Galbershtam appeals to a complex multi-level and multi-component activity structure. The author has also used the methodological principle of holism. When talking about polymodality and synesthesiability of musical consciousness, Fedorova-Galbershtam is based on the idea of the initial integrity of the world image in the human mind. The novelty of the present article is in the author’s statements about intermodal synthesis as the basic psychological resource in music performance. The researcher offers a new approach to viewing a sophisticated system of the musician’s professional reflection in terms intermodal connections and ideomotor training. In the course of the research Fedorova- Galbershtam makes a conclusion about the essential role of audiomotor connections and productive hearing (acoustic) representations of the musician. The researcher also shows the relation between the level of the development of ideomotor skills, operational level of professional reflection and possibilities of creating an integral image of a music piece.
